SALONS GO GREEN ON INDOOR AIR
Florida salon owners are looking beyond ventilation systems and storage facilities for chemicals used in the business, with an eye toward the health aspects and comfort of salon-goers and operators. Potentially flammable and explosive situations can arise when nail products and hair chemicals are stored or ventilated improperly. Additionally, multiple hours of exposure to chemicals such as liquid monomer, ethyl methacrylate, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, and 2-propanone (all contained in nail products) as well as dyes and permanent straighteners and relaxers, can cause headaches, light-headedness, dizziness, nausea, and can affect your central nervous system. Nail and beauty salons in Florida that use products with flammable or reactive ratings, are required to exhaust or ventilate the fumes and vapors that are generated. When the salon owners were faced with bills over $10,000 to install adequate ventilation and air conditioning systems, they demanded an alternative and were presented with the CAP™ Clean Air Plant. The CAP™ Clean Air Plant is a small, portable bio-treatment system which controls indoor air quality by breaking down and eliminating chemical contaminants in the air. Unlike existing air filters, CAPs’ biological process eliminates gases, fumes, solvents, smoke, and odors. CAPs are designed to create a radius of influence which expands and creates a clean air zone. Contaminants, along with the odors that they generate, enter this clean air zone, where they are oxidized and eliminated. CAPs were demonstrated to reduce the flammability and explosivity of nail and hair products, as well as increase the quality of indoor air.
The CAP is the preferred technology in Florida, as it improves indoor air quality, while saving on energy costs. No lost air conditioning or heating, which can dramatically increase energy bills, and no costly ventilation or exhaust sytems.
Bio-oxidation is a sustainable (green) technology which does not require elevated temperatures or pressures or excess energy to operate. CAPs are the first portable, bio-systems to control indoor air quality and the only systems that address indoor air dynamics by creating a clean air zone. For more information contact Contact Us
